FAQs about the bootcamp
Who should apply for the Application Bootcamp?
The bootcamp is designed for aspiring commercial solicitors who want personalised support with vacation scheme and training contract applications. Whether you’re applying for the first time or trying again after rejections, we’ll help you identify your strengths, explain your motivations and write more convincing applications. You should be ready to complete assignments and put feedback into practice between sessions.
How often will the sessions take place?
You’ll have one 30-minute session each week for six weeks, giving you six dedicated coaching sessions, including two full application reviews. After each session, you’ll receive homework and practical assignments to complete before the next, helping you build on what you’ve learned.
Are the sessions flexible?
Yes. You’ll receive a booking link so you can choose available appointments that suit your schedule. Sessions are available between 9am and 6pm, including weekends. The coaching is tailored to your background, target firms and development areas, with time to ask questions and work through your own examples.
What happens if I miss a session?
Sessions can be rearranged, but please give at least one hour’s notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment. All six sessions, including any rearranged appointments, must be completed within six weeks of registering.
Are all the sessions 1-2-1?
Yes. You’ll receive individual attention, with guidance and feedback focused on your own work.
How will I receive feedback on my applications?
You’ll have two dedicated sessions, each focused on a line-by-line review of one complete application package. We’ll examine how well you answer each question, support your points with evidence and explain your interest in the firm.
You’ll also receive written comments to guide your revisions. We’ll check your revised drafts to see how you’ve implemented the feedback and identify anything that still needs attention.
Will you help me choose which firms to apply to?
Yes. We’ll help you build a shortlist based on your interests, experience and career goals. In your dedicated research session, you’ll learn how to compare firms, identify their competitors and understand what makes each one distinctive. Research workbooks and a step-by-step guide will help you put that approach into practice.
What transcripts and writing sample do I need to provide?
Please send your academic transcripts (unofficial copies are fine) and one academic paper you’ve written. There is no set word count. Choose a piece that gives us a meaningful sense of your research, critical thinking and analytical abilities.

How and when do I have to pay?
The six-week bootcamp costs £749. Once we’ve reviewed your application materials, we’ll let you know whether you’ve been accepted. If you’re offered a place, we’ll send you a payment link.
You can pay in full or choose an instalment option to spread the payment over three months. No payment is required when you submit your application.
